Photographic history has been rapidly changing since its origin in 1826. Experimentation and hybridization of the medium are elements that continue to evolve in contemporary photographic culture. 

When I approach photography in the classroom, we begin by acknowledging its history; what darkrooms and the medium have been limited to and explore where it could evolve, during a time when digital technology is now the primary means of altering, transforming and influencing photographic tradition.
