Silver Eye Center for Photography’s Benefit Auction 2024 features an extraordinary selection of contemporary photography and vintage treasures including many artists featured in exhibitions at Silver Eye. I am working in the studio to continue to blend of mediums. For this auction donation I am combining the tintype and the color darkroom RA-4 print to construct new narratives on how we read an image. These works are taken to a sheet metal press after they are cold pressed together.

current work in progress
my new work is not just about the tintype process, but how my experimental methods have evolved non-linearly both in and out of the darkroom. There are parallels and patterns throughout the past ten years.

In Absolute Space are 20 x 24 inch wet plate collodion on aluminum (tintypes), that will be assembled + sculpted into three dimensional works. They were constructed in the darkroom without a camera and will be included in a solo exhibition at Silver Eye Center for Photography March 2 - April 28, 2023.

after deferring my sabbatical this past academic year I was fortunate to receive a semester break from teaching. I developed new skills outside of the darkroom spending most of my studio time in Protohaven’s sheet metal facilities
